party are willing to concede 28 per cent, quota to purely rural districts, while the country party are agreeable. Jome members of the country party object to the reduction of the swinging margin, but there is a majority of both parties in favour of a compromise, and rabid members of the country party, such as Sir Sohn Hall and Mr Seymour, are in favour of it.
