Waitoa Road Board. ELECTION. THE OLD BOARD RE-ELECTED BY LARGE MAJORITIES
Great infcere£t was evinced with respect to the result of the general election of members for the Waitoa Road Board, which took place yesterday. There were two polling booths, the oneatMorrinsville being presided over by Mr A. Bramner, that at Waihou, by Mr F. Payitt, r JJie result was made known shprtly after seven o'clock, as follows :— Candidates Votes. Hnnmer, E. W. 102 H«rrell, J. 97 Chepmell, W. P. 96 Turnbull, J. 96 Burnett, H. 93 The abovfl, being the outgoing members, were declared duly elected. The other candidates ranked as follows :—: — Abbey, W. 60 Taylor, T. 54 Johnson, IT. D. 54 Murphy, Denis 43 AT WaITOA The voting for the five candidates hailing from the Te Aroha side ot the district was as follows :—: — Johnson 51 Taylor 51 Abbey 50 Hanmer 48 Murphy 39 We congratulate the ratepayers upon the rosulf, believinar as we deculedly do, that they have ncte-i wisely In re-elect-. ing the old members.
