Household tmniturc at outside sales brought tair prices* The sa c at mart was lather dull. The lioravj, instruments, machinery. &c, of Mr Ifirrmsrton. sold at the mart, brought good prices. The small lathe sold at £33. Produce generally was quiet at the early part of the week, but an improvement took place before the end. Friday's sale was well attended, and there was good competition for many lines. Potatoes are Retting scarcer, and prices are hardening. Good onions are much wanted; prices are high. Well cured and nicely got up local bacon and hams arc wanted. Good Iresh butter is in lair demand; no ihst-elass to hand. Corned and pastry butter is a drug m the market; at is very dithcult to sec what is to relieve it. Fresh egss are wanted. GgoA cheese is scarce. Fruit supply is dropping oil', and prices have advanced accordingly. Poultry were entered in i"au- numbers, and all sold well ; a marked improvement in demand and price. Pigs : But tew entered ; these came on so late that buyers had left the yard, thinking none were coming. Properties ha"\o been inquired after; one in Hobson-'street sold by auction on Thursday at £1,100 cash. The following is the order of sales by auction -.—Monday, at mart, Mr W. Tuesday and Thursday, at mart, assigned stock ot drapery, hosiery, haberdashery, clothing, etc. Tuesday and Friday, at mart, poultry, produce, fruit, groceries, etc. Wednesday, at the mart, household furniture and effects, sewing machines, mangle, etc. Thursday, at mart, a freehold property situated in Hobson-street, having a trontage of 84 links by a depth of 291 links, with building erected thereon, known as the " Devonshire House," was sold to Mr Edwin Bennett, the present occupier, for tho sum of £1,100 cash.
