Messrs Alkuicd Buokla^d & Sons' Weekly Rki j ort.— At the llaymarkcl during Uie past week hand-bound hay ranged from 2s 9d to 3s 3d; pressed, hay, 4s tho cwt ; oats, in wholesale parcels, 2s 9d to 3s 2d : maize, 3s tho bushel ; carrots, 35s to 37s ; potatoes, £4 to £4 10s the ton. On Friday the number of horses sold was less than at times, but prices for good animals improved, and ranged from £9 to £14, and a singlcsoatod buggy, *11. On Tuesday, hides and skins were pitched in full number, and although quotations for hides were no higher, bidding was brisker, slum ing a desire to pui chase at present quotations. Skins fully maintained previous quotations. Sound ox hides, medium to heavy weight, brought -Id; cow hides, 2}d ; calfskins, 4M the lb ; butchers' skins, 2s 9d to 5s 4d ; station skins. Is 8d to 5s 4d each ; tallow, 12s to 203 the cwt ; hones, 4s 3d the cwt ; wool, 7Jd toB,'d tht lb. At the country cattle sales, held respectively at Pokeno and Drury, the severe weather occasioned a small muster of stock : those brought forward were froely competed for to full values. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle were dull of sale. Prices tor cows nt calving ranged from -€2 to £6 ; dry cows, from 15s to 3Cs. Fat cattle in full supply were better worth fully 5s each, and good steers were steady at 17a the 1001b. Mghty steers received from Waikato averaged £6 ; 100 front Waitava, £6 12s 6d. Sheep were also penned in full numbers, and last week' 1 ? quotation ot 3d the lb was iully sustained. Wether* ranged from 12s to 20s; ewes, 9s to 14s 9d each; lambs, 10s to 11-, 6d. Pigs, generally of a coai se description, were plontilul, and sold better than for eevpral markets. Calves scarcely obtained the extreme pi ices of the pasi two maikets., and a box of jowls brought 1=! Ccl each,
