VOLUNTEER DRILL-SHEDS.
Mr Anderson wanted the Government t° legislate in the direction of having volun teer drill and boat sheds exempt from locaand municipal taxes and rates. Mr Fergus replied that the Government did not see their way clear to comply with the request, and mentioned that in some towns considerable dissatisfaction was caused by the volunteers lending their sheds and buildings for the purpose of entertainments, etc.
