NATIVE SCHOOL.

Yesterday Mr Goldie drew the attontion of the Minister of Education to the fact that last year these schools had been declared to be inefficient, and worked on an extravagant scalo, when the Government promised to havo an inquiry. Mr Goldie wanted to know if such inquiry had been held. Tho Hon. Mr Hislop replied that it, had not, but inquiries would be made in the direction indicated by the hon. member. Ho mentioned, however, that it was impossiblo to carry these native schools on at the average cost of the public schools.
