REPRESENTATION DEBATE.

A deputation of town members consisting of Moss, Fish, Porcival and Izard waited on the Premier yesterday afternoon and requested him not to bring on the repre&enta tion debate before next week. Sir H. Atkinson declined to give an answer until he had consulted with his colleagues and some members of the country party. The reason of the desired postponement is to give time for the metropolitan press to point out the rapacity ot the country members in seeking to obtain such an overwhelming shaie of power as they seek.
