LAN D SETTLEMENT.
Dr. Mtchetc has presented a petition from Sir R. Sfcoub and a large number of settlers in Otago, stating that some of them were anxious to form a Co-operative Land Settlement Company and to obtain Crown lands either on lease or a purchasing clause, for the purpose of which they desire to be set apart under the special settlement provisions of the Land Act, 1885, to come under the regulations issued by the Government when the Hon. ]Mr Ballance was Minister of Lands. They wanted facilities given to them to carry out their purpose.
