LUNATIC ASYLUMS.

Mr Fish suggested to the Government thab they should take steps to cause managers of Government and private asylums in New Zealand to furnish once in each month to the Registrars in Auckland, Wellington, ChristchurehandDunedin,a list of the names of all persons confined in their respective asylums, together with the date of eommif'tui, and the names of medical men or magistrates upon whoso authority they were incarcerated ; such list to be open for in&pection by the public at any time during office hours. Steps aie to be taken by the Government to give effect to this suggestion.
