THE DOINGS AT ELLERSLIE.
Local trainers are now getting their charges ready with a view to next season. Major George's yearlings have put in their appearance this week, and they have had Fiesole and Olive for companions. Harry Harrison is treating 1 Antelope to penile work, and he also has a two-year-old colt by St. Lcgcr — Afcalanta under his care. The most forward ot the youngsters is Mary, the hlly by Nordenfelt — Frailty, and she piomiseb to help to make a name for her sire. George Wright has her in hand, and he also has Teksum in work again. Cissy is doing well and furnishing out, and Hilda is doing gentle work. Quadrant, the colt by Robinson Crusoe — Radiance, has been taken up, and looks better for his spoil. He is in George Hope's hands, and tnis trainer also has Lady Norah in work. W. E. Gladstone, by Musket— Miss Laura, is to be given another trial, and Harry Ilickton has been bustling him along. A youngster that has been treated to a good deal" of work is a chestnut filly by King Cole out of Melody. She is an inmate of Skirving's stable. The copious rain that has fallen has rendered the tan track unfit for use, and traineis have been working in the middle of the course.
