CAULFIELD CUP WEIGHTS.

Mr Barnard's handicap for the Caulfield Cup is much on the same scale as his Melbourne Cup effort, albeit he has been more * sevore on some of the New Zealanders. Both Man ton and Cuirassier have caught it very hot, and those who know the horses must agree with me that it is unfair to put Man ton on level terms with Cranbrook, and for Cuirassier only to receive 21b from the Hon. J. White's big 1 horse. Cranbrook has 51b less than he had last year, and thoroughly wound up I think he would be one of the hardest to beat. In fcho Melbourne Cup, Corunna is asked to give Sinecuie lib ; now the Auckland colt if called on to meet him on 31b worse terms. This requires explanation, for Sinecure proved himself one of the crack two-year-olds. Compared with their Melbourne Cup imposts, Pakeha has gone up 81b, Aristocrat 71b, and Sedition and Tradition each 61b, while the imposts of Bravo and Recall have been raised 51b. To select, a trio from tho lengthy list I have most liking for Cranbrook, Lonsdale, and Sedition, bub it is more than likely the winner is concealed among the army handicapped under Bsl.
