LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
A local Government petition was circulated in the lobbies this morning and largely signed. Ifc stated the present system was unsatisfactory, and urged upon the Premier the desirability this session of inviting the House to appoint a select Committee with the usual power 3 to consider and report upon the present system, and make such recommendation as they thought fit.
