NEW BILLS.
The following new Bills wore read a fir&b time:— Gisbornee :— Gisborne Harbour Board Act, 1884, Amendment Bill (Mr Graham). Oamaru Harbour Board Bill (Hon. Mr Hislop), Licensing Act, 1881, Amendment Bill (Mr R. Reeves), The River Works Bill was read a second time. ' POINT RESOLUTION INQUIRY. It will be remembered that the report of the Commissioners on the Point Resolution purchase was laid on the table of the House on the first day of the session. Yesterday Sir George Grey moved without notice for the production of the evidence in this inquiry, and it was carried without objection. NEW ZEALAND BANK BILL. The report of the joint Committee on the 'Standing Orders on Private Bills, upon' this Bill, was presented to the House yesterday. Jfc recommended tjiat as the promoters had
complied with the spirit of the Standing Orders they should be allowed to proceed with their Bill.
