NATIVE TROUBLES.

The subject of the Broughton-Donnelly vendetta was brought up in the House yesterday by Mr Carroll, who asked for an explanation of the delay which had occurred in ascertaining the title of the block (Omahu), applications for hearing; having been gazetted many years since. The hon. gentleman said it was alleged that the Native Department were largely responsible for what had occurred. The Colonial Secretary said there had been no delay on the part of the Government, it having all been caused by the late completion of plans. Howe\ er, matters would probably now be piessed forward with due despatch. Inquiries would be instituted to ascertain whether theie had been any irregularity on the part of the Native Department.
