Mr George VYilson, Mining Inspector, has been here for some , days, on *a visit of inspection. During his stay he laid off a number of additional reside nee sites, occupation leases, and reserves for school and Government building purposes. I hear that tenders are to be called for ib,e Gorge,, road, to cqnnect with the Tauranga main roa.d 'at^he* Oabu eross-' \n%> ' ' '■ - Mining. — Woodstock : The upper sections of th"s mino are to be let on tribute, for which Mr McCotnbie is inviting tenders. Crown G.M. Co.: This Company's plant is all in leidiness for work, but as it will be sometime before ihe C.issel Gold "Extracting Company hs*ve (heir plant completed, 'riiere will be no grinding just yet., \ have seen a specimen, of '^tln? powdered ore from the dry crusher ; it is almosr as fln.'e;as. < flou.n. [rift*- Weather has/been so wet ■ for' theHast three weeks that no'cart ing could be Hon , consequently, the' work's" ,o£ ' the Cassel Co. are ajmo.st at a' stan3still,,for the time being.
