Schooi* Committee: A- meeting of - the Momnsville School Committee was held on Thursday evening last. Present : ' Messrs Horrell (clmirman), Harrison, Turnbnll, Eowe, Smith.Minutes of the meetings held on April 22nd and 23rd, were lead and confirmed. Correspondence : From. -Mr Lainont (teacher), agkrn,£ to hare the schpol fence, repaired, and a supply of fuel obtained. Also drawing the Committee's attention to. the state of the well, stating the water was unfit fo,r use, nn<\ suggesting as the cheapest remedy that spoutingand tanks, be placed round the teacher's house, f From Mr, Snell,complaining of theurjdua severity of punishment Mr Lamoht was in, the habit of inflicting on his (SnellV) boys ; also asseiting that he (Mr Lamont), «nvas continually .calling ..the children "liais" and '-' fools," and unless- the Committee took -action with respect -to-* the matter complained of, he would becompelled to keep his children from sell col altogether. 5 The Chairman said the first business fos
