Champion G-. and S. Mines, Tai : In Dillons Contract (No. 4), the drive in now in a distance of over 300 feet. The reef is six or seven feet wide, tind assays well from wall to wall The contractor has a further distance of about 4U f eet to drive to complete his contract. In No. 5 Contract, for 'sinking a winze 105 feet, Pettery, the contractor, in consequence of the surface water, recently commenced to rise from the level known as No. 616 1 to intersect the winZ3, and at a distance of about twenty-five feet should hole through nnd complete his conti.ict. When this work has been carried out ore from all pails of the mine above this level can be forwarded at a cheap rate. No. 7 Contract, lor driving a fmther
distanco of 150 feet on tho line of reef (No. 1 crosscut, TOO feet north-east from crossnut, uncl 50 foet south- west fiom do.). The contrnctor (Shea) has completed about 100 feet of his work, and will probably complete the contract in about six weeks. Tn both ends the reef is large and turning out well, Aerial Tramway : The contractor has. now some eight or nine of the trestles yon dy. Hopper : The contractors for crecifng the hopper at the mouth of the low level at^ the junction of the branch tramway with the- main tram Tine, are Btearlily progressing with the work in hand ..
