HOME RULE. LETTER FROM REV. R. McKINNEY. Auckland, June 1,
The Rev, R. McKinney, Presbyterian minister at Mahurangi, lias replied to tho invitation from the Irish Delogates Reception Committee in the following terms :—: — St. Columba's Manse, Mahux'angijMay 24th. My dear sir, — I received your letter, telling me that you had proposed me as a member of the Committee for the reception oi the Irish delegates, and asking for my concurrenco in this. I write to say that I heartily concur in it, and to thank you for the honour you have done me, although I may not bo" able to get to Auckland to assist in tho reception. Evory righb-think-ing man must rejoice at tho issue of the " Parnell and Crime" aftair. To me, howevei, there needed to be no investigation to convince me of Mr Parnell's innocence. I had an a priori conviction, as all men who knew much of Mr Parnell had, that he never wrote, and never could have written, the dreadful letters attributed to him. Hoping that the mission of the delegates may be successful — that the terrible days of Irish coercion, endured with little intermission for seven weary centuries, are about to be terminated, and that the aspirations of all true Irishmen are near realisation, — I am, very truly yours, R. MuKin> t e\\ W. Jennings, Esq.
