Waitoa Road Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the* Waitoa Road Board took place last Saturday in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville. Present : Messrs. W. P. Chepmell (in the Chair), E. WKW K Hanmer, J. Horrell^and J. lurnbull. Amon<£f the correspondence was a letter^ From Messrs E. W. Brothers, G.. Brothers,, and other ten settlers or Block XI, Te Aroha, req-aps-bing the Board to improve the road between section* 104, 101, 103,. and 106, of that Block. The Engineer estimated the cost oß' the work at about £20, and he was. instructed to get it done* 1 A letter was received from. Mr J>. Jones, calling attention- to the state of the drain by the Ni>;utumanga road,, which he wished to be> deepened to enable him to drain his land, and: offering to pay half the cost of deepen« ing it opposite his land. It was decided that Mr Hanmer and the Engineer inspect and report on this, matter at next, meeting the Board. Accounts amounting to, £63 &3 Id were passed for paymenfc. The adjourned annual meeting 1 of ratepayers took place at 2 o'clock p.m.. A quorum of ratepayers being present the notice convening the annual meeting oF ratepayers was read, and also theminutes of last annual meeting of ratepayers, after which the meeting was. Further adjourned till Saturday, 29th June, 1889, at 2 o'clock p.ni.j by which time the balance-sheet may possibly bereceived from the auditor.
