Six years to-morrow since the advent of the advance guard of the Salvation Army into Auckland, Captain Ted Wright and Lieutenant Johnny Bo\V6rman were the leader?, and for a short time they had hard work to make a footing. How well they did their work is shown by the stately barracks which now occupy a central position in Albertstreet. The first address of the two Salvationists was given in the Temperance Hall, Albert-street, and proceedings were lively before the meeting finished. Yet to - day the Army has branches in almost every populous centre in New Zealand, and its adherents tot up into thousands. As for Ted Wright himself he is still continuing his uphill fight. Recent advices state that he has just completed a term of imprisonment in Queensland for having a band playing in tho public streets. Tomorrow the Salvation Army in Auckland will hold a "Great Rejoicing Tea" in honour of their annivorsary. Officers commanding branches in the out districts will be in attendance. Amongst them will be Major and Mrs RoUe, Captains Sutton, Alston and Ross, who will give details of tho progress of tho, Mission.
