DISTRESSING SUICIDE.

An inquiry into the death of Clifbnn U. Stone, aged about 24 ycirs, which occurred on the banUfr of the Toirens' Lake has concluded at Adelaide. ' Home few weeks ago I received a sunstroke, and c vev since' then , have almost lost my memory, and am ne\er free from terrible headaches. 1 saw a doctor, and lie told me that it had allected the place where I had received an accident to my skull previously, and if I lived I paw nothing but a lunatic asylum staring me in the face ; and ■sooner than end my days there, I decided to take the step I have taken. I know it is a terrible thing, but I'm sure God will forgive, as I now cra\e your forgh eness. 1 shall now have no temptations." The latter part of the letter lefeired to purely private matters, couched in the most afTcctionale language, and addressed to individual members) of the deceased's family. The jury, after a short deliberation, le burned a verdict to the eflect that deceased committed suicide whilst in an unsound state of mind.
