Te Aroha S. and G. M. Co. : The rainfall of Thursday and yesterday, although not heavy, has nevertheless provided a sufficiency of water for motive purposes for the time beins?, and yesterday the lower furnace and Boss pan plant were set'in motion, and are now working away steadily. At the upper mill twenty head of stampers with concentrators are at work, and probably ten more will be started to-day. The circular saw is also at work, cutting up kauri flitches to the sizes required. It is to be hoped there will now be sufficient rflin fall to enable the machinery to be kept going. Ferguson Syndicate : Work is steadily progressing in connection with this Company's ground and the erection ef the new machinery. The time for receiving tenders for extending the Phanix low level tunnel has been extended till noon of Saturday, 18th inst.
