'FRISCO MAIL SERVICE. VICTORIA WILL NOT ASSIST.
Melbourne. May 29. Mr James Mills, M.H.R., genera manager of the Union Steamship Company, had an interview to-day with Mr Duncan Gillies, Premier of this colony, with refeience to the San Francisco mail service. He asked if there was any disposition on the part of Victoria to carry on the service. Mr Gillies said he could offer no encouragement.
