London, April 25. MM. Rolhli-or'i and Naquet and Count Dillon accompanied General Boulanger to London. They were met at the Charing Cross terminus by j large crowds, who greeted them with | inin;;led cheers and hisses. Geneial Boulanger does not intend to issue a manifesto at piesenr, and will not remain in England beyond October. He expresses himself satisfied with the heartiness of his reception. Lord Randolph Churchill had a halfhoui's interview vvnh General Bou langer at the Bristol Hotel to-day. General Boulanger asserts emphatically that his party vull be victorious at the next general elections in France. The reason of M. Henri Rochefoit coming to London was owing to his presence being forbidden in Biusseis. London, April 25. Lord Lonsdale, who has reached the coast of Alaska on his walking tour to the Arctic regions, declaies that the Alaska cataract, on the Hay River, surpasses the Niagara Falls in beauty. The river at the ] ( alls is a mile and a-half wide, and the water descends a piecipice over 200 feet deep. The Duke of Edinburgh has passed ovet the crisis of his illness. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have declared a dividend of six per cent. Copper is quoted at J~?,6. A number of holdeis ate arranging to sell their stocks gradually. The wool maiket is spuited, wilh an upwcid tendency. The price of frozen mutton and beef lemains unchanged. The tallow maiktt is mm. Best mutton tallow has advanced is since last week, and is now quoted at 27s 66. to 28s ; best beef tallow has advanced 6d, and is now at 263 to 26s 6d. German beet sugar shows a decline, and is now offered at 23s 6d per cwt. Ox hides remain Him, being now quoted at 3 7 >dd to 3/jd per lb. Galvanised iron, Gospel Oak brand, has declined, and is quoted at £16 per ton. The market for kauri gum is flat. The tone of the money market is quiet. Sir K. B ild win Malet, British Ambassador at Berlin, and Messis J. A. Ctowe and Charles Stuart Scott, both j Companions of the Bath, will represent England at iheSamoan Conference. London, April 26. The reserve at the Bank of England is and the percentage of 'reserve to liabilities is 42}^. London, April 27. Three hundred thousand Biitish colliers have demanded an advance of ten per cent, on the present rale of wages by the end of June. Mr Bates, one of the American delegates to the Samoan Conference, criticises the German policy severely, and warns England to be on her guard. Sir C. B. H. Mitchell, late Governor of Fiji, has been appointed Governor of Natal, during the absence on leave of Governor Sir A. E. liavelock.

Mr Bates, one of the United States delegates to the Samoan Conference at Berlin, contributes an aiticle to the' May nu'Tiber of the Century Magazine," , in which he expresses strong anti-Ger-man tendencies in respect to Samoan re affaiis. i Nlv. Y"ork, April 26. A food and water famine has occurred at Oklohoma Reserve, where' large crowds have assembled in anticipation of being able to obtain a section of land. Great distress prevails among the people, and these disappointed in getting land have encroached on the adjoining reserve belonging to the Indians. The latter resent this encroachment, and have gone out on ihe warpath, Emigiation from the United States to Canada continues, the exodus of people being enormous. Sydney, April 27. Considerable hostility is shown by the trade societies of New South Wales against the introduction to Sydney of a branch of the Corps Commissionaires, and the Trades and Labour Council have entered a protest against their introduction. Commissionaires, frequently called' commissioners, aie public street messengeis. The idea is of Parisorigin. At first they weie selected from the wounded soldiers pensioned after the Crimean and Indian wars. They receive iheit appointment from a society which was established by Capt. Sir E. A conference held by the Rowing Uubs of New South Wales has rejtcted the definition of an "amateur" given by the recent Intei colonial Confeiences, and decided to abide by their own lules.
