NEW ZEALAND INLAND PARCEL POST. REGULATIONS.
No paicel exceeding lllbs in weight, or the dimensions 1 ereafter specified, will be accepted ; and unpaid or insufficiently prepaid paicels will 1 c refu c ed. 3. Size. — Ihe dimensions allowed for a parcel aie : — ft. in. Greatest length 3 G Greatest lengih and girth combined 6 0 J^or example : A parcel measuring 3ft 6in in length n>ay measure rs much as 2ft Gin in girth. A shorter parcel may be thicker ; thus, if it measuie only 3ft in length, it may be Bft in path round its thickest part. The weights and din en«ioi.s given above apply only to ; parcels for places seived by railway, coach, or I steamboat. 4. For Places not Served by Railway, Coach, or Steamer. — To all places not served I by railway, coach, or steamer, on'y parcels j kot exceeding 5 lbs in weight, and not ; measurii q u.oie than 2ft in length, and Wj in bieadth cr depth may he accepted, and provided they are not of such a fragile natme r.S to prevent their being sent with safety in the ordinary mail bag. 5. Must be Prepaid. — The full postage must be prepaid by ordinary postage stamps, which must, be affixed by the sender or the person handing in the parcel. G, Not to be Posted in Posting-box. — Parcels exceeding lib in weight aie not to be posted in the posting-box, but must be handed i over the counter, or at tl c d -livery-window of ! the Poat Oliice, to the proper officer, by whom the fize, v eight, and postage will be checked before a parcel may be accepted, Parcelp posted in the posting-box, unless admissible and fully paid at letter rate, -will be charged on delivery with a fine of 6d., in addition to any deficient postage. This also applies to parcels posted in pillar aud other postingboxes. 7. Prohibited Parcels. — Parcels bearing, or containing writing or marks of an offensive or indecent character, or containing gunpowder, cartiidges, lucifer matches, or anything explosive or liable to combuttion, bladders containing liquid, live animals, grossly offensive or filthy matter, or any substance likely to cause injury to other parcels or to the ofliceis of the Post Oince, are prohibited. 8. "What other Parcels may not contain. — parcels may not contain any letter or communication of the nature of a letter, money (coin or bank notes), or a packet or }.aiccl intended for delivery a,t anaddiess other than thafc borne by the parcel iiself. 12. Registered. — Parcels may be registered nndei the same conditions as letters ; and for an additional fee of 2d a receipt can be obtained and posted to the sender,

The voids " Parcel Post " should be written on the paiccl, or on tl c label to be obtained from the Post Office for affixing to the parcel. 2.
