Tuvuks, April 20. Lo>e H\>r>. — The rise having attained sufficient height to permit of a leading stope being commenced, a breaking-down ot the reef took place to day, when 101b good picked .stone were obtained, and dabs and colours of gold were seen freely in the quartz. The leef in the drive will be broken down early next week. Royal Oak Mink (Coromandel). — Since my last report the winze sunk by the tributers has been broke, into from the rise about eight feet from where the run of gold was. The ground in appearance is all that can be desired for meeting with gold, showing strata of mineralised rock. The reef at present is large coarse - looking stone. A start will be made to-morrow to drive towards the run. The tributers are at present working on the cross reof north and south, also sinking on No. 2. The reef is fair looking, not showing any gold, only loose prospects. — Peter Rkiix A telegram to-day say&, " From the Royal Oak Mine about 401b of picked stone have been obtained. Gold is showing in the face."
Dunldjn, April 20. The Cromwell Company has obtained 81oz gold from 40 tons of quavtz.
