To Aroha S. and G. M. Co, :— The Company's works, with the exception of 10 head of stampers, is at a standstill through lack of water for motive power. A few tons of concentrations were put through the revolving and reverberatory furnaces this week, to test the working of this poitiou of the plant, which proved most satisfactory in eveiy way. The peiton wheel, i'or diivingthe Boss pan plant, has been placed in position, and the wet jacket smelting furnace is now in course of erection. Mr \V. Jamieson, managing director of the Company, from Melbourne (also a director of the Broken Hill and of several other leading mines in Australia) is still here, and making himself thoroughly acquainted with not only the Co.'s plant and mines already opened up, lm l . with the characteristics of the goldfield genprally. Yesterday Mr Jamieson, accompanied by Mr J. McCnsh Clarke, local director, and Mr J.
