MASSACRE BY NATIVES. The Wild Dark Outrage.

The police of Tounsville on Saturday week arrested a. Kanaka named Motlab, vrho is supposed to be implicated in the murder of Captain Chiistopher Kane and thre^ men, on board the heche-de-mar boat Wild Duck, on the Barrier "Reef, about twelve months ago. It ■will be recollected that the tender of the boat, named the North Star, was found on the Ross River about a month a^o. An aboriginal named 'Peter has also been arrested. The latter states that it was decided by the black crew to murder all the whites, which they accordingly carried out. The* four men were put to death by tomahawks ; two bodies were thrown overboard. The Wild Duck was then taken to Porpiose Island and left there. One of her tenders, the Echo, was said to be sunk on the Barrier Reef by aboriginals with the bodies of two of the white men murdered. The murderers then sailed for Townsville 1c the North Star, which they deserted in Ross Creek, where it was.found. On Sunday Peter directed the police to find guns, revolvers, binoculai-s, etc., near Ross Creek. Another aboriginal, who is £aid to have taken part in the mas->acr'e, is still at arge in the Cooktown district.
