THE FISK JUBILEE SINGERS.

As briefly noticed in our last issue, this talented Company gave one of their entertainments in the Te Aroha Public Hull on last Monday evening ; and had every reason to bi well satisfied with the very hearty reception accorded them. Never liefora have we seen anything like such a ciowd assemble to be present at an entertainment at Te Aroha. The doors were announced to open at half-past seven, and long before that hour numbers were waiting outside, and by aqn.u ter to eight every available seat was occupied, and thepassage filled albO. In fact the Hall was legularly packed, and a large number of persons had to go away unable to obtain even standing room. Waiorongomai, Morrinsville, Waitoa, Paoioa, and surrounding districts generally were well represented ; and had the Company appeared a second night at Te Aroha, beyond a doubt they would again have had a bumper house. Those who have heard Mr F. J Loudin, much regretted his absence on the present occasion, caused by his having had to proceed to Melbournea few days previously, His truly wonderful bass voice was decidedly much missed and wanted. Nevertheless the Company acquitted themselves in a manner that delighted their audience, and were vociferously applauded. The following programme was submitted : — Part First : (1) Steal away to Jesus, with The Lord's Prayer; (2) My way is Cloudy; (3) Nobody knows The Trouble I've Seen ; (4) I'm Rolling Through an Unfriendly World ; (5) solo, Trusty as Steel, Mr Williams ; (6) Wide liiver; (7) solo, The Song that Reached My Heart, Miss Johnson ; Interval. Part Second .* (1) Medley, portions of American, and other songs ; (2) In the River of Jordan ; (3) chorus, Walk Together Children ; (4) Going to Ride up in The Chariot : (5) Jingle Bells, or The Sleigh Ride; (6) He Arose from the Dead ; (7) I've Been Redeemed ; (8) Farewell My Brother. Encores weie the order of the evening, to most of which the Company very good naturedly responded. Miss Johnson's magnificent soprano voice was heard to great advantage in the solo, " The song that reached »iy Heart," as an encore she sang, "My Jack is a Sailor Lad." During the interval copies of the Company's book of songs with music, etc., giving an outlino of their history found ready pur chasers. During the course of the evening Mr Williams said this was their farewell visit to New Zealand. They purposed proceeding to India, Japan, China, etc., and about two years hence to disband to. their several homes. The Company ' )e*f t for Thames on Tuesday morning by Messrs Bradley and Co. 'a coaches, fiom whence they return to Auckland, to visit Otahuhu, an.d. Onehu,n.ga ; before sailing foy Sydne} 7 ,
