Among the books now in stock ar^ Goulds collection of problems, and the new book on draughts by Robert McCulloch, of Qlasgow. A copy of the latter work has been forwarded to us by Mr Mears, and it proves to be a very recent publication, bavins* been issued only last year. It contains the laws of the game, full descriptions of play, seventeen different openings, with 759 variations. A number ot problems and critical positions are also given, ard in .short, the book, which costs 2«, is a complete guide to the game.
