LOSS OF AUCKLAND SCHOONERS.
The Auckland schooners Lily and Tafua, owned by Me Arthur and Co., were both in Apia harbour when the hurricane burst over ib. The Lily was cut down by fche CJ.S.S. Nipstc, and the Tafua, after losing her masts, went ashore and became a total wreck. The Lily was insured for £600 in the Alliance, but this was partly reinsured in the South British and Union Companies. The Tafua was insured for £225 and this was partly re-insured in the South British Insurance Company.
