Applications for Forfe'turo of Licensed TJoldinsTH : — The Mining Inspector, MrGeo. Wilson, applied to have the following licensed holdings forfeited, on the ground thut they had not been woiked in accoidance with the Regulations. Bismarck License 1 Holding (Max Friedlande.-, registered owner). Mr Edw. Cameron appeared on behalf of the owner, and btated work had been suspended pending the return of Mr Peter Ferguson, as it was only by putting in a tunnel through the New Era Special Claim the ground could bo ad van tageourly worked. He had seen Mr Fergussnn since his return, and expected to be aHle to agree as to t'-nns for putting in a tunnel as proposed, lie would therefore ask that the case be a Ijourned for on« month, to allow him time to tiy and mako some arrangements. Mr Fergusson had only been bac.v a week or two yet. A good deal of prospecting had been clone on the ground. Nev.id.i Licensed Ho)ding( James F niter, registered owner). Mr Cameron appeared in this claim also, and for the same reasons anked for an adjournment for a month. Hi.s Worship consented to the adjournment asked for in both ea«es. Lord Nelson Licensed Holding (Edgar and Walker owners). The Mining Inspector said he was aware a certain amount of work had been done on the ground. In reply to the Warden Mr Walker, who appeared in Court, said there were several other shareholders in the claim, viz., Pond, MoArthnr, one of the Gomes', and several others.- The area of the ground was thirty acres. At present he did not know of any payable stuff existing in the ground, If adjourned for a month, he would try and have the mine regularly worked. The Warden asked if he adjourned the case us requested, who would be placed in charge of the mine ? Mr Walker replied he thought Mr Edgar would take chartre of it* The Warden to Mr Walker : You know oftentimes men are put on who do not work. If you put hands on you will need to put on men who will work the ground. Adjourned for one month. Lord Wolseley Licensed Holding (J, A. Pond, owner). The Mining Inspector stated he had visited the mine on two occasions and could see no sign oi: any work being done. Forfeited. Silver Queen Licensed H old ing (Donald Mnnro and John Squirrel!, owners). John Squirrel I said he and Jus. Munro (a shareholder), had done a good deal of work on the ground. Donald Munro, however, had never done auything to assist in working the property. If allowed a little further time he thought he would be able to arrange for having the ground worked. The Warden remarked the claim was off the general run of reefs, and in comparativoly new country, and he would grant an adjournment for one month. Kuby Licensed Holding (Thos. Goldsworthy, S. L. Hiist, and E, W. Hanmer, o wner.4). Thos. G > Ids worthy appeared on belinlf of the ownera ( and said there bad been a difficulty in getting in. calls, but he had been some of the shareholders recently, who liad promised to pay up ; and he would ask for an adjournment.
