WAIORONGOMAI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Waiorongomai, Friday.

Football : A meeting 1 of members of the Waiorongomai Football Club was held at the Waiorongomai Hotel on Tuesday evening last, about sixteen persons being present, Mr Jeffrey in the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. It was resolved that the entrance fee be reduced to 2s 6d ; instead of ss, as formerly. It was resolved that a challenge be sent to the Te Aroha Club, and the Secretary was instructed accordingly, the match to be played in about a fortnight's time. It was also resolved that the members of the Club procure uniforms, and the Secretary was instructed to ascertain from various tradesmen the probable cost of same. Accident : On Tuesday last Mr Jamieson, the Engineer of the Te Aroha Silver and Gold Mining Company, paid; a visit of inspection to the Company's Water-Itace, and while in the act o-f mounting his horse to return, the animal (a somewhat frisky one), suddenly swerved, Mr Jamiesons foot beii q in the stirrnp, dragging his rider some thirty yards. Fortunately for him his foot became disengaged, and he escaped with a somewhat severe bruise on the right leg. The rscape was a marvellous one r for had he been carried a few feet further, he might havp m^t with very serious injury, on account of the rocky nature of the ground. Fish Industry : I have very much pleasure in stating that Mr Slevin, of Katik.iti, with commendable enterprise has commenced to furnish this district with a weekly supply of fiesh fish, which move on his rart is greatly appreciated by the families of our com.nunity. Thefish are packed over the ranges an<l delivered at our doors within the space of six hours. Messrs Graves and Baskiville pnrposo erecting a new slaughterhouse at an early date, to replace the one recently destroys t by fire.
