The fourth fino-er of Sawyer's ritchfc hand and the middle finger of Hosking'a left hand were both broken and sm ished, and it is doubtful whether it m.iy not be found necessary to amputate them. They are, however, under Dr Williams treatment, and he hopes that he may be able to avoid any such operation .
