YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION. Auckland, March 23.

The annual meeting of the Younpr Men's Christian Association was held last evening in the social- room. Mr E. Bell presided, and there wa* a fair attendance of member*!.

ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report was read by Mr T. Buddie, Hon. Secretary. It stated that the past twelve months had been a very trying period financially, and, in common with other institutions, the revenue of the V.M.C. A. had puttered by decreased income. The Association should, however, be maintained in as efficient a condition as funds would allow ; but the bentfitb offered to young men for a very small annual payment had not been taken advantage of to the extent that the Committee had a right to expect. The Committee also in\ited suggestions as to the best means of remedying this defect, and then *ent on to particularise the work done duting the year.

Wilson, in moving the adopMon of the report, said that the Association was iloing a great work, and the i hanks of members were due to the Rev. Mr Hill, the .iood effect of much of whose woik ti>ey would pos-ibly never hear of, in the amount of evil, freethought and ooseness of life which ha<l been prevented. The Association was looked upon as an agency for good throughout the community, and he hoped the coming year would be a better one than that through which they had just pas-ed. Mr W. Callender, who peconded the motion, thought it was grati ying that they liad only gone to the bad £8 during such depre-sed times. Mr R. B. Sbaldere spoke of the benefits derivable from the Association, and of the good work done by the Key. Mr Hill. The Chrtirman said he hoped that the financial prospects of the Association would urove brighter dur ng the ensuing year, <md that many ot the young men who had gone to Australia would return and join the Association.
