THAMES RACES. Thames, Tuesday.
The Thames Jockey Club's races took place at Parawai yesterday, but the attendance was only moderate. The weather was beautifully fine. The following are the results of the various events :—: — Selling Hurdle Raee — Wideawake, 1 ; Volunteer, 2 ; Maori Win. 3. Won by about five lengths. Dividend (10s tickets ), £1 2s. Local Handicap— Riot, 1 ; Tryfluke, 2 ; Ocean Bird, 3. Dividend, £1 2s. Thames Handicap Steeplechase — Messenger, 1; Huntsman, 2, Prospector also started. Won by two lengths. Dividend, £1 2s. Pony Race— Platch, 1 ; Little Nell, 2 ; Mystery, 3. A protest was lodged against Riot, but it was dtnmissed by the Stewards, Dividend, £3 19s. St. Patrick's Handicap — Riot, 1 ; Tryfluke^ ; Volunteer, 3, Paddy,. Mystery, Kapai, Ocean Bird, and Seaweed, also started. Won easily. Dividend^ £1 2sSelling Steeplechase — Huntsman,. 1 ; Messenger, 2. Maori Win, and Flora, alsostarted. Dividend, £1 Bs.
