AN ALARMING RUMOUR. Opotiki, 2 p.m. It is rumoured that Te Kooti has decided to leave for Gisborne. THE AUCKLAND CONTINGENT. ARRIVAL AT OHIVVA. Auckland, Feb. 27.
A telegram was leceived this afternoon by the Native Minister, stating that the Aucktand contingent in the Chelmsford had arrived at Ohiwa, and were being landed at a quarter to twelve to-day. Ohiwa is nine miles from Opotiki. Ohiwa, where the troops have landed, is a bout nine miles for Opotiki on the coast
line, while Waioeka. where To Kooti is» is about seven miles on the other side ot Opotiki. The Volunteers have therefore about sixteen miles to w&llc before they reach Te Kooti's camp, and this should occupy them about four hours.
