THE GOVERNMENTS RESOLUTION. TE KOOTI TO BE STOPPED. Gisborne, Feb. 22.
At half-past four this afternoon the Premier informed the Vigilance Committee thatTeKootishouldnotcomein to the district, and that the Government would take armed force to prevent him if necessary. Wellixgtok, February 22. Thirteen members of the Wellington police force left in the Wairarapa for Gisborne this evening, and by the same steamer some sixty or seventy members of the Permanent Artillery, fully equipped, were embarked at Napier. This number will be increased, and the whole will be engaged in maintaining order in the disturbed district. Christciiurcii, February 22. Five constables left here by the Takapuna, under orders to report themselves at the depdt in Wellington immediately on the arrival of the steamer. It is conjectured that this has something to do with the concentration of the constabulary at Poverty Bay.
