MELBOURNE EXHIBITION NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. Melbourne, February 18.

FuRiHkR awards in connection with the Exhibition were announced to-day. In the minersl classes the Colonial Laboratory, Wellington, received the first award, and also special mention. The Geological Survey Department and Mines Department, New Zealand ; the Antimony Company, Weilu gton ; the Brunner Coal Coinuany, Ore) mouth; the Bay of Islands Coal Company, Auckland ; the Coal Cieek Company, Collingwood ; the Coal Company, Nelson, J. Kilgour, Tjneside Colliery, Brunnerton ; New Zealand Midland Railway Company, Christchurch, each received first aw?rd. T. and S. Morrin, Auckland ; Wash burn and Son, Parapara, Nelson ; Mr Witheford, Champion Copper Company ; Kaitangata Railway and Coal Company, Dunedin ; Waikaio Coal and Shipping Company, Auckland, each receive a second award. For Coke the Westport Coal Com pany ; J. Kilgour, Tyneside Colliery; and the Brunncr Coal Company, Greymouth — each received first awards. The Te Aroha Gold Mining Company received the ihird award for minerals. Sir James Hector received the first award for minerals to illustrate the geology of New Zealand ; the Colonial Museum first lor models of the same nature; Sir Walter Buller first for his book on birds ; J. Blacketr, Wellington, and the Survey Department, first for maps ; ihe Utago Museum first for the collection of New Zealand food fishes; Helen Gallic, first for knitting; Mrs Davidson, first and special mention for fine specimen of Honiton lace work ; Stone, second for fretwork : A. M. A. Grant, Waimate, second for timetable for the New Zealand District High School ; T. Atkinson, Christchurch, third for heating apparatus ; W. I. Robinson, Board of Education, Auckland, third for drawings illustrating elementary mechanical drawing ; R. M. Simpson, Wellington, fourth for rotary pumps ; F. H. Trouson, Wellington, honourable mention for maps of the City of Wellington ; H. E. Liardeth, Wellington, and W. Beetham, Masterton, honouiable mention for stag's head.
