CANADA AND AUSTRALIA. THE PROPOSED CONFERENCE. Sydney, February 20.

The Government, in response to a request from Victoria, forwarded their views on the Canadian Conference to the Premier of the latter colony ; and the proposal to hold a Conference in Australia falling in with the views held by the Plon. D. Gillies, the Premier, he cabled to the authorities in Canada the opinion of the colonies on the subject. The Hon. G. K. Dibbs, Premier of New South Wales, is very indignant at the Premier of the sister colony acting as the mouthpiece for Australia. He has wired to Canada, suggesting that the Conference be held in Sydney, this being the senior colony.
