The total amount of reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion is £ 14,758, 000, an increase of £72,000 on the previous week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 44|j per cent. Consols are 99. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock ib 102^ ; business active. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 41s 6d ; New Zealand long berry, ex store, 41s ; both are firmer. German beet sugar, 13s 9d ; Java, 16s 6d ; bu.«inesb restricted. Iron: Best No. 1 Scotch pig, f.0.b. , Clyde, 41s 9d per ton. Quicksilver, £8 10s per flask. Afc the wool sales prices remain very firm. London, February 16. New Zealand hemp still continues to increase in value, and is now quoted at £41 10s per ton. At the wool auctions yesterday 10,000 bales were sold, and to day 11,000. Prices were good, and there isageneral rise of a per lb. *
