Mr R. J. Creighton, agent for the New Zealand Government, has had an interview with the Hon F.T.Durham, K.C.M.G., Postmaster-General of the colony, relative to the San Francisco mail servioe. Mr Creighton suggested that the San Francisco mail contract should be continued for a further period of eight or ten years, and that the service should be a fortnightly one. He has also suggested that Melbourne and Sydney should be alternate ports of call. Mr Durham said he could not interfere in the matter, as the Postal Conference had left the matter in the hands of New South Wales^and New Zealand.
