London, January 19fcb. The "Economist" condemns the !New Zealand Antimony Company's purchases on the ground that they were made without testing the vendors 1 statements. Ifc asserts that the Company has already suffered th% penalty of its rashness by a heavy lo?s,f,rQm, non-delivery. The " Economist " aJ'so complains of the short-sightedness of New Zealand legislators' in taxing capital which does nob > yield a profit, to which ib attributes the withdrawal of money from the colony.
