Trenton. — In consequence of the hardness of the country in che shaft, the contractors have given up their contract, and sinking is now proceeding with wages men. Saxo>. — The drive at No. 5 level is now in a distance of 122 ft, or a little past where it was expected that the " break" met with at No. 4 level would be reached. The reef is divided into two branches, one of which is 8 or 9 inches in thickness and the other fully 12 incheb, and dabb of gold were freely seen in both when last breaking down, and 3 or 41bs of very good picked stone selected from the genei-al dirt. The various stopes are yielding excellent crush ing dirt, upon which the full force of the stampers at the Company's battery is engaged. New Moan* ataiiu. — MrG. S.
