DOMAIN BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meqting of tl»e To A roll a Hot Smugs Domain Board ws\s held on Saturday evening last. > Present ; Messrs Gavin (chairman), Wilson, Ilott, Lipsey, and Ahier. Minutes of the previous monthly meeting, and of special meeting held on December Bth, were read and confirmed. Correspondence: Petition signed by Uev S. Lawry, Messrs P. Dillon, T. Corbett, T, McDonough, John Hart, T. Aitken, J. Gordon, J. Livery, J. Read, T. Leadbetter, and J. Heathcote, residents at the northern side of the Domain, requesting the Board to have a gate erected into the Domain from Kotuku street, as in the opinion of the petitioners such would prove a grent convenience. After some discussion it was resolved that a sale be erected on this side of the Domain as requested . From John Bryaon, Australia, requesting information re the springs, etc. Kesolved that a copy of the "Guide" be sent Mr Bryson, l?rom Thos. Neiland, contractor for carrying out the removal of slip and lowering of No. 5 Bath house, etc. ; referring to the very hard country he had met with, and other unforeseen difficulties ; also stating that several of his men had for several days been engaged in doing work not specified in the contract, in order that a good supply of water might be kept up, and asking the Board to take these matters into consideration and grant him a few pounds extra. Mr Ilotf asked the Chairman if he was aware whether, several of the contractors men had been employed in work not spocißed, as stkted by him, and if so by whose instructions ? as if done by the request of the Board or any of its officers, the contractor ough{; certainly be, paid for any such work. In reply the Chairman said ho had not been in to Te Aroha" to. see the work during the week and could not say what work had been done. It was decided to let the further consideration of the letter stand adjourned uijtil after the Engineer's report had jjeen received. The Chairmnn replied the annual mating would be held on January Bth; Mr Wilson said the Gazette notice fixed second Tuesday in December \n each year as the date on which the annual meeting must be held. Mr 4-hier , said b^e. understood the annual meeting wqulct be held on January Bth. Some - discussjon fihen took place with respect to ' the position pf affairs, seeing ths annual meeting had been allowed by the phairman, to lapse, but nothing was decided upon. Annual Balance Sheet : Kesolved jihaj; the meeting stand adjournod until Tpesday Bth iust. to receive the annual balance sheet, etc. and the meeting rose.
