De Lesspps has bppn offered the Chairmanship of the new P.maina Canal Company, which is to be formed with a capital of L2j0,000.000. President Carnofct has refused to subscribe to the new Company. Thq labourers employed on the Panama Gann] are dissatisfied because of a feeling hapinp: aiisen that there are no funds with jvhifh to carry on operations ; and it' is feared a total suspension of work is imminent.
