It is currently reported here that Mr H. Hi Adams haa been appointed mine manager of the Moanatairi mine, Thames; vice Mr T* Bad ford. Mr James Graham* is the successful tenderer for the construction of the new hopper for the New Find, mine (labour only),,to be completed within" two weeks, • Contract price, £8. • ■ < I regret to have to report that Miss Munro of this place met with . a nasty accident this morning I.1 '. It appears that Miss Munro and a young lady friend had arranged to ride to Hamilton together, and it was while she wa* on her way to join her companion that- the accident occurred. In passing near Canolls corner, being mounted on a rather fresh horse, one of those yelping curs that this neighbourhood is famous | for, rushed forth and snapped at the horses heels, causing it to shy violently and Miss Munro was thrown off. Some kind neighbours immediately ran to the rescue, and after a little rest and refreshment, Mi,ss Munro pluckily resumed her journey.
