MORRINSVILIE ANNUAL SPORTS. [From our own Correspondent.]
The above sports were held in one of the large paddocks adjacent to the Morrinsvill railway station on_ Saturday last. /.The weather was all that could be desired, and it is estimated that over 260 persons were present on the ground. Great care had been taken by * the . As starter Mr Ar Eowo had a very difficult task to perform, some of those competing giving him great trouble, as nothing would induce them to^ keep to theu 1 different marks, and in future it is to be hoped the Committee will, empower the starter to lev.y a penalty on, all those who make falso starts. Harry Rowe rode w»th excellent judgment, and was'loudly cheered after his two victories. TheTe Aroha Brass Band were on the ground, and added considerably to the enjoyments of the day.
