Sir George Campbell, member for Kirkcaldy in the House oi Commons, to-day protested against the action of the Government in parleying for the gi anting of icsponsible government to the greater portion of Western Australia without first consulting Parliament. Sir John Gorst, in teply, said it would be necessary to pass an Act before autonomy could bt established so that Pailiament would have a full opportunity of considering the proposals, should they be proceeded with, befoie they can be earned out.
