Novel Fans
The fan is a necessity. The season bring* gome exceedingly new and beautiful design* \n gauze, with gold sticks ; we have birds of all kinds, such as pheasanfoon red ground, a large white cockatoo with outspread wings covering the white grounds and almost forming the whole fan ; a pair of whit« doves.gazing coyly at each other from the ends of some heather spray. A very novel fan was of black gauze mounted on gilded wood with , a design of flying swallow* painted on, and sprays of grass gilded- and touched up with small gold beads. . The design was nothing uncommon when* ,th« fan was open ; when it was closed the word 1 "Remember' in gold beads \vas_"seen standing out distinctly upon the aid©. -
